Her Majesty is wearing a special royal tiara which has been made from imitation diamond crystals and pearls. She is wearing a special sash together with the Most Noble Order of the Garter. King Edward III in 1348 founded the Most Noble Order of the Garter which is Britain's oldest order of chivalry. Its phrase of 'honi soit qui mal y pense' means 'shame on him who thinks evil of it - which is the motto of the Order. To finish off this majestical scene her Majesty is wearing two portaritures surrounded by imitation diamonds.
The top ribbon is of George VI (her father). The bottom blue ribbon is a picture of George V (her grandfather).
